I was just thinking today about the precious gift that God gave us called life. Life is a miracle, given to us by our Creator. Even the birth process is a miracle. Think about it. A little blob of protoplasm from a female meets a little blob of protoplasm from a male and nine months later, the two have reproduced themselves in the form of a newborn baby.
There is a distinct process associated with birth and the period that immediately follows. When there are no complications, no one has to lead the infant out of the birth canal. They generally come out head first, going to a place outside of the womb that they have never been before. A force goes into play, labor pains begin and in a little while they are born. At birth a newborn is totally vulnerable. Their body temperature needs to be maintained in a narrow range; they have to be protected from the elements; and they have to be fed an appropriate amount and type of food very often. They meet parents that they have never known before and amazingly, most are instantly loved. With rare exception, those parents have a heartfelt commitment to take care of them until they are able to manage on their own. All of these things happen miraculously.
When infants are born, the Creator has already allotted them a certain number of days of life. The hidden secret is, however, that no one knows exactly how many days they have been assigned. We also do not know whether or not we will be able to live out those assigned days. According to the Bible, the number of days appointed for human beings is about 70 years or 25,550 days. According to Psalm 90:10 (KJV)
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
We have all heard of someone who was blessed to live around 100 years or older so we know that there are exceptions to even 70 years. According to Wikipedia, the oldest surviving woman in the past couple of centuries was Jeanne Calment of France. She was born in 1875 and died in 1997, making her life span 122 years and 164 days. The oldest surviving man was Jiroemon Kimura of Japan. He was born in 1897 and died in 2013 at 116 years and 54 days. The oldest living person today is Sussanah Mushatt Jones of the United States. She was born July 6, 1899. She is, as of April 25, 2016, 116 years, 295 days.
Phenomenal, we say, when we think of how long these individuals lived. It is my prayer that every single one of them gave their heart to the Lord before their death. If they did not, the legacy of all of their years would be no different than it would have been if they had died at age 20 without salvation. If they died without Jesus Christ they would have died like a fool died. A fool is one who dies without God. All of the additional years that they were given would not have made a difference in their ultimate outcome. Every single human being is given an opportunity to be saved and if they died without Jesus Christ they died like a fool died.
Why, you may ask, do I say that that every single individual is given an opportunity to be saved? The Bible tells us in Titus 2:11-14 (KJV)
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.
That Scripture tells us that in some way, and somehow God has made sure that His grace has appeared to everyone. Everyone will be given an opportunity to be saved. Whether that grace comes in the form of a tract that someone hands out or whether that grace appears in the form of a group of sanctified people standing on the streets preaching, or even if an individual just looked up and saw the sky and realized that there had to be a God, that Grace will appear to all men and women. Each of us can know that there is a God and if we desire to know Him He can be found of us.
The latter portion of Titus 2:12-14 says
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Verse 12 tells us that once we have life we must live it soberly. Very often when we hear the word sober we think that the word refers to someone who refuses to be drunken with an alcoholic beverage or using an illegal drug. But there is another way that an individual can be drunken. This Scripture also speaks to the individual who is drunken on the cares of this world. Some people are so caught up in their job, family, sports, clubbing and living the high life that they are not sober. The pressures of making it from day to day and keeping up with the Joneses has others so wrapped up that they don’t have time to think about God, Jesus Christ or the very fact that their life is coming to an end one day. They just want to have fun and “enjoy life”, but they don’t see that there is a great pitfall waiting for them at the end of life. And the sad thing is, they have their figurative fingers stuck in their ears and refuse to allow anyone to tell them the truth of their situation. That truth is that they are going to die like a fool dies if they don’t have the salvation that only Jesus Christ can give.
Psalms 90:12 says, So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. That Scripture says, “Please don’t let us forget that our days are numbered. Let us be wise enough to realize that we didn’t come here to stay forever.” We have to think about what comes after life is over.
We all know that we are all going to die, even if you live to be 122 years old like Jeanne Calmet of France. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
People, there really is a Judgment Day coming. Some may think that Judgment Day is the time when Jesus will decide whether or not you make it into Heaven, but that is not true. If you are found in the Great White Throne Judgment, Hell is already your destination. The judgment will be to determine how you will be punished not if you will be punished for your sins. I can tell you right now, based on your answer to two simple questions whether you are on your way to Heaven or Hell. The questions are: 1.) Have you repented of your sins and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior ? and 2.) What kind of life are you living right now? If you have not repented of your sins, have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and/or you do not live for Him every day, you are not going to Heaven. If you are not living free and separated from sin right now, you are on your way to Hell. Don’t count on what you have done in the past. What are you doing today?
The judgment for those who died without Jesus will be to determine the type and level of punishment that is to be received throughout eternity; Heaven’s judgment for the Saints will determine how we are rewarded for the things that we did for the cause of Christ and the life that we lived for Him.
Once you are dead you cannot change your destination. It’s a done deal. It’s all over. So, while you still have the miracle of life that God gave you, get saved, sanctified and filled up with the Holy Ghost. I implore you, don’t die like a fool dies. Don’t die without Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Don’t let it be said after you are dead, “He/she didn’t get saved…and now it is too late”.
Please don’t be offended because I called Us Gentiles. I use the term to demonstrate the message of the Book of Daniel. God established a group of people known to us as Jews as his chosen people. All others were…Gentiles. As this is the fourth in a series on the book of Daniel I refer to us non-Jews as Gentiles.
As I stated in my last post, the disobedience of Jews opened the door for Gentiles to receive salvation. Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior, ransomed us out of sin so that we too could have a right to the tree of life. It’s true that the Jewish people were disobedient. Look at what Ps. 78:10-11 (KJV) has to say.
They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them. (Psalm 78:10-11).
But what about us, dear Gentiles? We cannot say a word about the disobedience of the Jews because when we were unsaved we were disobedience personified. We were mired in sin and shaped in iniquity (Psalms 51:5 ). But thank God that the Blood of Jesus is strong enough to break the yoke of Sin. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Jesus has made salvation very simple for us. He did all of the hard work for us. All we have to do is:
1. See ourselves as sinners in need of salvation. (This is hard to do for some people because their Pride won’t allow them to see themselves as anything less than a god in their own eyes. (Get over yourselves Kanye and Kirk. You are no gods. It’s that very pride that will take your soul to Hell. You are confusing so many and you are going to get a beating for it if you don’t repent!)
2. Repent of our sins. (Say you are sorry and really mean it).
3. Accept Jesus Christ as our only hope for salvation (Because He is).
4. Ask for the power to live according to the rules that have been established for us by God. (Get filled with the Holy Ghost according to how God set it up. Yes, that does include speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance…Mk. 16:17.)
5. Live according to the rules that have been established in the Bible. (This is really a turn-off for some people because; just like the Jews, they don’t want to be obedient to God’s rules.)
Yes, it is true that the Scripture in Matt. 11: 28-30 says that the yoke of Jesus is easy, but it never said that there was no yoke. It said that his burden is light, but it never said that there was no burden. Yes, it’s going to cost you something to be saved. It’s going to cost you your very life. But my, what a beautiful life you will gain when you put away your old life and take on the life of Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
I hate to tell those of you who hate rules and only want to do things your way, but Jesus also requires that we follow His rules. We are told that when Jesus rules in the new Millennium (1000 year reign of Christ that follows the Tribulation) He rules with a rod of iron.
Rev. 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
He’s not mean; He just means business. It’s righteousness or the highway. He requires obedience, just as God requires obedience. Jesus asks the question in Luke 6:46:
Why call me Lord, Lord and do not the things I say?
And in John 14:15 He says, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” To me, it is such an honor and a privilege to be able to serve God. Does anybody remember that He is the Creator? Have we forgotten that we Gentiles were bought with a price, which was paid by the very blood of Jesus Christ? Never has a man loved us so much that He would willingly die for us. But Jesus did. John 15:13 says
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
Jesus Christ is our perfect example of obedience. (Philippians 2:8) He was obedient to His father, even unto the grave. He hung, bled, and died for our sins, was resurrected and now sits at the right hand of His father. And for His obedience He is greatly rewarded. (Matthew 28:18) So, Jesus did all of this to keep us out of the Lake of Fire and you can’t say: Sorry; forgive me; fill me; I’ll live for you??? It all boils down to the same problem that the Jews had with obeying God and rejecting the Messiah. God has an answer for the Jews. The answer is the Tribulation. God knows how to deal with their disobedience and He will resolve the problem. They will receive the Messiah and become the evangelistic nation that they were always meant to be. Judah is an eternal people according to Joel 3:20.
But Judah shall dwell forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
But what about you, dear Gentile? Will you give your heart to the Lord? Will you give up your way of sin and receive the Messiah? I implore you, “Get right, get right with God. The only way for you to get right with God is to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I’m going to live with Jesus forever and I want you to be there with me. Together we can give Jesus the glory that He so richly deserves. We will be able to add our voices to those who praise both God our Father and the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ, as described in Rev. 5:11-13.
And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
Disobedience is the refusal or failure to obey rules, laws, etc.: a lack of obedience. Obedience means to be submissive to the restraint or command of authority: willing to obey. (Merriam-Webster). It is just the nature of man to want to do things his way and not God’s way. And yet God expects and requires that we obey Him. The Bible tells us that obedience is actually better than sacrifice.
And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22)
So why can’t we just do what we want to do? Why is that so bad? Well, the Bible, our guidebook for life, tells us that all disobedience is sin: Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. (1 John 3:4) and The soul that sinneth it shall die. (Ezek. 18: 20). God hates sin and He will punish all who commit sin. (More on how to avoid his wrath later).
The Jewish people, God’s chosen people, were perfect examples of the disobedient. Whatever God told them to do, they refused to do. Whatever He told them not to do, they did it anyway. The nation of Israel has already experienced great punishment for their disobedience. After years of warnings through the prophets and after receiving opportunity after opportunity to change, severe punishment came in the form of loss of their Temple, land and freedom. The ten tribes were overthrown and captured by the Assyrians in approx. 722 B.C. The Babylonians overthrew Judah in 606 B.C. through 586 B.C. Judah’s exile lasted for 70 yrs. and they were allowed to return to Jerusalem. But did Judah learn their lesson? No. They did not learn their lesson but continued in their own way rather than God’s way. Continued disobedience brought continued punishment. The Jews have been scattered over the face of the planet for their disobedience. They have suffered persecution, murder and attempts to annihilate them. God, however, remains faithful to His Covenant with Israel and because of His faithfulness they have not been eradicated. But God knows what must be done in order to get His chosen people to turn to Him in obedience. The antidote to their disobedience is what caused Daniel great anguish in Daniel chapters 9-12. Tribulation and Great Tribulation are yet to come and will be a time of severe punishment.
The greatest disobedience of the Jewish people has been their rejection of Jesus Christ as the Messiah. They rejected Him, God’s greatest gift to mankind, and actually killed Him. But, while man meant it for evil, God meant it for good. Their rejection of Jesus opened the door for us, the Gentiles, to be able to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Interestingly enough, even though Daniel was given the great revelation about the coming punishment for his people at the hand of the Anti-Christ as well as all other End Time events, he never saw the church. As amazing as we think we are, we are a parenthetical insertion between Daniel 9:26 and 9:27. The entire church age is hidden from Daniel in that valley between the two verses. Pretty humbling, huh? Let me explain. In Daniel 9:26 we see the words “shall Messiah be cut off”. This is God telling Daniel that the chosen Messiah shall be killed. The next verse skips to the time when the Anti-Christ will lie to Israel and make a false covenant of peace with them and their enemies when it says “and he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (meaning 7 years) and in the midst of the week (3 1/2 years) he shall cause the sacrifice…). So, the entire time, from the death, resurrection, ascension of Jesus Christ, and the entire church age all the way up to the Rapture, is a big parenthetical insertion. WOW! It’s as though God stopped His progression towards causing His beloved people to come back to Him and allowed us, the Gentiles an opportunity to be saved.
Doesn’t that make you want to throw back your head and scream “THANK YOU FATHER!” Doesn’t it make you want to run to Jesus and cry “THANK YOU JESUS! for dying for us?” “THANK YOU FOR MAKING A WAY OF ESCAPE?” And then, “Save me Lord. I accept you as my Lord and savior. I want to obey you in every way. Don’t let my soul be lost.”
Why are the Gentiles not running towards Jesus with all of their power? Gentiles have the nerve to look down upon the Jews for killing Jesus and for their disobedient behavior, yet the unsaved Gentiles kill Him every day by rejecting God’s salvation. They are also walking in disobedience every day. Are they crazy? Do they not know? Can they not understand that if they are left here when the Rapture takes place the same Tribulation that the Jews will experience is waiting for them if they do not accept Christ? Better still, do they not understand that their life is on a straight trajectory to Hell if they die without Jesus?
To those of us who are saved and have accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, have we done all that we can do to get the message out? Let’s work harder Saints. The curtain is closing and we don’t have much time. If you are saved, stay saved and help others escape the coming Tribulation. And for those who don’t believe the End Time is near, remember the end of YOUR time is near. If you are not saved your rejection of Jesus assures your eternal damnation beginning at the time of your death. This applies to Jews and Gentiles alike. Don’t let this be your outcome.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)
This is the second in a series of posts based on the Book of Daniel. I have no idea how many will follow; I’ll write until the Lord says to move on. Meanwhile, it is my prayer that someone will be encouraged to not only read, but study this important book and benefit from it.
Most Christians are familiar with the Bible stories about the early years of Daniel (“God is my judge”) and his fellow Babylonian captives, known as the Three Hebrew Boys. They were four young men who were captured during the Babylonian captivity who stood for God under adverse circumstances. The three Hebrew boys, Daniel’s friends, were Hananiah “Yah is gracious”, Mishael “Who is like God?” and Azariah, “Yah has helped”. When they were captured their names were changed to the Chaldean names, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that we are more familiar with today. Most of us have heard the stories of their refusal to defile themselves with the King’s meat but fared better than their contemporaries when they only ate vegetables due to their faith in God. (Daniel 1:1:8-21). Many of us are also familiar with the story of Daniel’s three friends’ refusal to bow to the Kings’s image and the fact that they were thrown into, but subsequently delivered from, the fiery furnace unscathed. Jesus went into the fire with them as the “Fourth Man in the Fire” and delivered them without even the hint of smoke upon them. (Daniel, chapter 3). Equally familiar to most of us is Daniel’s personal story of deliverance from the Den of Lions and his subsequent elevation as a great man in the Babylonian empire. (Daniel, chapter 6). But there is so much more that we gain from the Book of Daniel, for this book contains hundreds of fulfilled prophecies and some of the most specific information that relates to the unfulfilled End Time prophecies in existence. As a matter of fact, it is difficult to understand the Book of Revelation without knowledge of the Book of Daniel.
It is in chapters 9-12 that Daniel learns that his people are going to suffer greatly for their disobedience to Almighty God. Both Israel and Judah (the two divisions of The Twelve Tribes of Israel) had been overthrown by Gentile nations because of their repeated refusal to obey God. Daniel discovered that although the 70 years of Babylonian captivity were almost over for Judah, God’s punishment was not over. Daniel cried, prayed, fasted, repented and sought God concerning his people. As a result of his seeking God he learned the severity of the high cost of Israel’s disobedience. He learned of the Tribulation, the Great Tribulation and life of the Jewish nation under the rule of the Anti-Christ. God comforted Daniel with the knowledge that ultimately the Jewish nation would be restored to a right relationship with Almighty God.
Reading about the outcome of the Jewish nation helped me to understand the high cost of disobeying God. The wrath that will be poured out upon the Jewish nation (and all who are on earth during the Tribulation and Great Tribulation) is meant to have them turn from their ways and obey God. If He punished them for disobedience why would we think for just one moment that He will not severely punish all sinners? There is a high price to pay for disobeying God.
Get right, get right with God. He is not to be played with.
To all of my readers, please understand that this post is not to be understood as unique or as spoken directly to me as a prophecy. It is the result of prayer, careful study and research of several conservative writers on the topic of Eschatology or The Study of End Times. My own thoughts are clearly identified as my personal opinion or thoughts when they are included. I list several scriptures for each sub-topic so that you are able to read them for yourself and form your opinion. I do understand that the subject of Eschatology is fraught with controversy, but “Somebody has got to say something…so I’m just saying”. If this post helps one person to get saved and “Rapture-Ready” it has done its job. I am not thin-skinned and welcome your opinion. However, if you are profane, insulting to me, insulting in any way to my Heavenly Father, His Holy Spirit, to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ or to the standards of Holiness, please know that I will not allow your views to be included as a comment. If you sincerely want to know the truth I will include your comments so that I, as well as all my readership, may help you to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. ALE
Contrary to what some may believe, God wants us to understand his prophecies about future events. The Prophet Daniel of the Book of Daniel was told to seal up the information concerning future events until later. (Dan. 12:9). Apostle John, in the Book of Revelation, however, was told to “Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand”. (Rev. 22:10). We who are alive today are able to understand Bible prophecy in ways that have not been possible in times past. God is speaking to both the saved and unsaved alike in letting us all know that something major is about to change. People everywhere can feel the paradigm shift that is about to take place all over the world. Road rage, the evil manner in which people treat each other, increased interest in the supernatural, including the occult, the weather fluctuations and the heavenly signs such as the Blood Moons and earthquakes in diverse places all let us know that “something” is about to happen. There is an increased interest about future events in the media. The emergence of recent television shows such as Lucifer and the return of the X-Files lets us know that some new things are on the horizon. Some of the television shows that were at one time X-rated and hidden until after the children were asleep now appear in Prime Time. Satan, through such TV shows as these, is attempting to interject himself into our normal lives and desensitize the populace to the negativity of his existence. He is slowly removing his mask in a manner that makes his evil nature commonplace and therefore acceptable. The return of the X-Files television show after having been gone for fifteen years may even be an attempt on the part of Satan to prepare the people to believe that aliens will be the responsible party when millions leave earth by way of the Rapture. I also believe that the push of homosexuality into mainstream life in America and all over the world is no accident, but a direct attempt to normalize and prepare the people for the possibility of a homosexual leader in the form of the Antichrist.
God rains on the just as well as the unjust. (Matt. 5: 45). In the same manner, He is able to speak to the unsaved as well as the saved. I find it interesting that God gave the first dream concerning future events to a Gentile king, King Nebuchadnezzar, in Daniel chapter 2. Further, it is interesting that not only could Nebuchadnezzar not interpret the dream, but also that he actually forgot the dream and needed a man of God to recall and interpret it for him. (Romans 10:14 KJV). Going through the King, however, brought the information to the forefront of more of the people of that time. Nebuchadnezzar’s threat to kill all of the men who were supposedly able to interpret his dreams but could not must have caused an outcry in the land, possibly raising the dream to the status of household discussion. Had God simply given Daniel the dream first, getting the information out to the masses might have been less efficient. (My opinion). God gave the same information to Daniel in chapter 7 in a vision to confirm the dream of chapter 2. I also find it intriguing that God dealt with King Nebuchadnezzar in such a severe manner after he became lifted up in pride about his accomplishments that it caused him to be saved. Nebuchadnezzar’s testimony of living in the fields like a wild beast, then coming to himself after seven years, glorifying God and having his kingdom returned to him is a testimony to God’s authority and His matchless mercy. But to whom much is given, much is required. (Luke12: 48). With the privilege of getting this kind of information directly from God, Nebuchadnezzar had to get saved (Again, in my opinion).
Chapter 11 of the Book of Daniel contains some amazing details about major world powers, beginning with the Medo-Persian Empire and continuing through the time just before the Second Coming of Christ. The angel let Daniel know what would happen to his people, the Jews, in the last days. (Daniel 10:14).
We are in that time period in which the locks on the mysteries of the future are unlocked, and the doors, which once were sealed, are unsealed. Why? Because what was once future is now our present. The Book of Daniel presents hundreds of prophecies that have been filled. Because of the accuracy of those prophecies we have no reason to doubt that the unfulfilled prophecies presented in the Book of Daniel will be fulfilled. Following is a presentation of those unfulfilled prophecies.
The Rapture describes the resurrection of Christians who have died in the past, and those who are alive at the time of its occurrence. Christians who are alive will be translated from mortal bodies to immortal bodies and all will rise to meet Jesus Christ in the air. This event will occur before the Tribulation period and can happen at any time. It will initiate the beginning of the Tribulation. (Dan. 9:27; 1 Thess. 4-5).
The Tribulation is a terrible seven-year period of unbelievably horrid events that will occur such as war, plagues, earthquakes, and catastrophes, during which about ¾ of the population will be destroyed. The 12th chapter of Daniel predicted that “. . . and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time . . .” (Dan. 12:1). Jesus himself confirmed that these events would take place when he stated, “For there shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matt. 24:22). The Tribulation period will end with Jesus’ Second Coming at the Battle of Armageddon.
Antichrist’s Appearance. For the first half of the Tribulation, the Antichrist will take his position and establish himself as a great and compassionate leader. He will be a great orator (Dan. 11:36); a political and commercial genius (Dan. 11:41; Rev. 13:16-17); and a clever liar and deceiver (2 Thess. 2:9-10). Some predict that he may be a homosexual (Dan. 11:37), although others interpret this scripture to mean that he will have no regard for women who would desire to be the mother of the Messiah. However, at the end of the first three and a half years, he will reveal who he really is: the cruelest dictator the world has ever known. He will gain political and economic control over all the world (Rev. 13:7, 16-17), declare himself to be God and then demand, on penalty of death, that everyone worships him as God (Rev. 13:8; 2 Thess. 2:3-4).
Middle East Peace Treaty. According to Daniel 9:27, the Antichrist will guarantee a peace agreement or covenant between Israel and its enemies. But, this will not happen. As a matter of fact, it is this very false peace treaty that will initiate the Great Tribulation period, the final three and one half years of the Tribulation.
Abomination of Desolation occurs when the Antichrist stands in the Temple Mount in Jerusalem on worldwide television and declares himself to be God. This ultimate abomination will be committed in the Temple according to Dan. 12:11; Matt. 24:15; and 2 Thess. 2:3-4. The “desolation” will be atomic wars in which all grass will be burned up; one-third of the trees will be burned up; oceans and rivers will be contaminated and cities will be burned. (Ezek. 29:9-11; Matt. 24; Luke 21; Rev. 5-19).
Mark of the Beast. After the Antichrist becomes the dictator of the world and is worshipped as God, he will demand that every person be assigned a number and a mark. Only those who are assigned a number will be able to work, buy, or sell. Only those who acknowledge Antichrist as God will get the mark, and an attempt will be made to kill everyone who does not have the mark (Rev. 13:16-17).
The Two Witnesses. According to the prophet Malachi, Elijah must come back to precede the Messiah when He comes in power and glory to bring in the Kingdom (Mal. 4:4-6). There is speculation about who the Two Witnesses will be, but there is thought that they may be Moses and Elijah.
Battle of Armageddon. After the Antichrist commits the Abomination of Desolation, he will make a final attempt to kill every Jew. To escape, the Jews in Jerusalem must immediately run for the mountains for safety. The Battle of Armageddon will end the Tribulation period. This last battle will include armies from all nations. Both the Old and New Testaments describe this battle. (Zech. 14:2-3; Zeph. 3:8; Isa. 65; Rev. 19, etc.). The purpose of this battle is to destroy Jerusalem and prevent the return of Jesus Christ. However, Jesus Christ and the armies from heaven will destroy the entire army. The Antichrist and the False Prophet will be cast alive, into the Lake of Fire.
The Second Coming. When Jesus ascended into Heaven after His death, burial and resurrection He promised to return. Angels on the Mt. of Olives said that He would come back to the Mt. of Olives (Acts 1:9-12). Zechariah said at the time of His return that the mountain would split (Zech. 14:1-5; Ez. 44:1-3), and the Eastern Gate that had been shut would open. When Jesus comes for his Christians at the Rapture He will not come to the Earth. At the Second Coming at the Battle of Armageddon, He will come down to Earth, and every eye of every person who survives the Tribulation, including the Jews, will see Him (Rev. 1:7; Mt. 24:27). Jesus will establish His Throne upon Mt. Zion in Jerusalem and rule the nations with a “rod of iron” (Rev. 2:27; 12:5; 19:15; Mt. 25:31,32) for a thousand years.
The Millennium. During this entire thousand-year reign The Devil will be bound. There will be no war (Isa. 2:4). The earth will return to a pre-flood state and people during the Millennium will live to be hundreds of years old (Isa. 65:25). The ground will be blessed to produce everything that man will need (Ezek. 34:27; Isa. 65:25; Rom. 8:18-23). Jesus’ law will be enforced and criminals will be quickly executed (Isa. 65:20). At end of the Millennium Satan will be loosed for a little while and there will be one last rebellion of the nations. This rebellion will end suddenly, however, when the Earth and everything in it will be burned up (II Pet. 3:10; Rev. 20:9,11). Satan will then be tossed into the Lake of Fire.
The Great White Throne Judgment. The saved of the Millennium will live to be almost 1,000 years old and then they will go into the New Heaven and New Earth. Because death will be eradicated they will not experience death. All the unsaved dead of all ages will be raised to be judged according to their works. Everyone who is raised at the Great White Throne Judgment without Jesus will go into the eternal Lake of Fire. (Rev. 20:12-15; Mt. 25:41).
New Heaven and New Earth. God will create new heavens and a new Earth. The redeemed will praise, love and worship Him forever. The beauty of the new heaven and earth will be so awesome that our finite minds can not even fathom the glories that God has in store for us. “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say. Come. And let him that is athirst come .. .” (Rev. 22:17). Now is the time to be saved.
This is a time of excitement for those of us who are saved and who love the Lord with our whole hearts. We must have heavy hearts and work hard to get the salvation message to those who are not saved and who will experience the horror of hellfire, then be banished to the lake of fire forever. While we, the church, cannot stop the coming events, through prayer we can seek God and hold back the hands of time so that one more soul can make it into the Kingdom of God. Use us oh God, for your glory and Honor.
A few weeks ago our church went on a three-Day Consecration to pray and seek the face of the Lord, expecting Him to break yokes, meet needs and to submit ourselves the more for His service. The evening before the fast ended I was sitting in my favorite chair, coming out of a nap. (Wonderful place that place halfway between sleeping and being awake). As I opened my eyes, I felt and saw a warm and gentle rain. I “heard” in my spirit “Showers of Blessings”. I received that Word gladly for all of the Saints of God as well as myself. Then I saw another rain cloud that was a beautiful but smaller cloud. It looked like it was made of spun gold. Warm gentle golden drops were falling from this cloud and I heard “Anointing”. I again received it gladly for the Saints. Tonight, in my time with the Lord, He explained to me what the special gold cloud meant. Hopefully, this will be a great encouragement to the older Saints of God.
The Lord told me to encourage those of us who have entered into our Golden Years of 65 and above. Many of us have been saved for years and are beginning to grow weary in our bodies. But the Lord wants us to know that He is not finished with us yet. He is going to heal our bodies, strengthen our minds and anoint us to do the work that He has called us to do. He has invested Himself into some of our lives for decades and He is ready to use us for His glory and honor. Rejoice older Saints, for we have come forth as pure gold. Let’s walk into our season, for our time has come. Just watch what the Lord is going to do.
My late Pastor, Apostle Lobias Murray, told us that we should “tell a dream as a dream”. His meaning was that when relating the events of a dream, simply report the dream as it appeared. Although not all dreams have meaning for our everyday lives, I know that occasionally they are very relevant. My latest book, The Night that Death Came Creeping in My Room, relates a dream experience that changed my life. So, when I experienced a particular dream, it left me disturbed. In the dream that I allude to, I was walking in a little field in my neighborhood and began to notice very tiny black and white puppies scattered on the ground. They were alive but made no sound. Their little eyes were still shut and I noticed that their sizes varied, but none was longer than an inch. I love puppies and I realized in the dream that without proper nourishment, they would not survive. They needed a safe place so that they could continue to grow. I was very disturbed in the dream because no one was helping the little dog that was having so many little puppies and who obviously needed help in caring for them. My first thought was to try to find the mother of the “one-inch puppies” so that I could try to tell her to stop scattering her babies everywhere. I wanted to let her know that they needed a nest and they needed her to nourish them. Then it occurred to me that I needed to gather them up and try to put them in a nest. I tried to make a nest for them and I began to line it with whatever I could find on the ground such as straw and old rags. Then I thought, “That’s not a proper nest, they need their mothers”. Some were dying in the field and they could not even cry for their mother, because they had no voice.
I awoke sad and disturbed for the puppies. How could someone not help the little dogs that were just dropping them and leaving them to die? For a couple of days I simply could not shake the feeling of sadness that I felt in the dream. Why did no one care about the “one-inch puppies?” The tiny puppies needed help and there was no one speaking up for them. I pondered the dream but I had no answer for a relevant meaning. As I related the dream to a friend, the Lord began to speak to me. What follows is what I “heard” in my spirit.
The “one-inch puppies” were actually tiny human embryos, specifically black, white and mixed race babies. The “one-inch puppies” of the dream were silent because tiny babies have no voice and no ability to communicate. They are totally vulnerable and are only able to survive in the womb of the mother, their nest. They were alive because, of course, life begins at conception. Those tiny babies need someone to pay attention to their cause. They have a right to life, just as any other human being has a right to life. God loves them as much when they are less than an inch long and weigh ounces as He does when they are around 7 lbs. and ready to live outside of the womb.
It is interesting that God used the image of tiny, helpless puppies to get my attention. Little baby puppies are so helpless and adorable. Yet, miniscule human babies are being aborted everyday by the thousands and few people are speaking up for them. An anointed pastor in our fellowship, The Late Bishop Paul Cannon of Nash Full Gospel Holy Temple Church, preached a message years ago entitled, “Somebody Ought To Say Something.” The Late Joe Bagsby, a popular host of the Dallas, Texas radio show Heaven 97, was so moved by the message that he adapted the title of the message by Bishop Cannon into a regular feature of his radio program. “Somebody ought to say something”. Saints, we must speak against abortion for the babies who have no voice.
Abortion is rampant in the world today. As a nurse I learned that in Russia it is the chief method of birth control. But, as quiet as it is kept, it is also a main method of “birth control” in America. It is sin and God hates sin. It is not only mothers of the “one-inch babies” who have involved themselves in abortion. What about the parents who force or encourage their child to abort? What about the boyfriends and “fiancés” who, because they don’t want to be responsible for child support, insist on the abortion of the child that they helped to create? What about the married man who already has a wife and family who paid for the abortion? What about the nurses, doctors, social workers and aides who work in the abortion clinics (Planned Parenthood Clinics) and what about the legislators who pass the laws making this form of murder legal? Yes, everyone involved, at whatever level, has the blood of the “one-inch babies” on their hands. God will hold them accountable for that sin. The very souls of those babies cry out to God for vengeance. God declares the following : Romans 12:19 (KJV)
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
Scary thought, huh? But lest, this scripture unduly break you, remember that the blood of Jesus is strong enough to cleanse you even from this sin. All you have to do is repent, call upon the name of the Lord and He will save you. Then determine to live for Him for the rest of your life. Never commit this sin again and you will be delivered from it. Justification, according to Wikipedia, is God’s act of removing the guilt and penalty of sin, while at the same time declaring a sinner righteous through Christ’s atoning sacrifice. The blood of Jesus will justify you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
We all have needs. In order to even survive on planet Earth we must have our basic needs met. And nobody can supply those needs but Almighty God. Man’s most basic needs for survival include air to breathe, water to drink, food to eat, shelter from the elements and sleep. We are totally dependent upon the God of the universe to meet those needs. I wonder about those individuals who claim that there is no God, yet they breathe His good air, consume His resources, and rest the body that He made with restorative sleep. Yes, life can be hard sometimes, but Thank GOD we have a good and loving God who sees our circumstances and promises to meet our each and every need.
From Wikipedia we learn that Abraham Maslow suggested in 1943 that there is a priority level for each of our needs. He first introduced his concept of a hierarchy of needs in his 1943 paper “A Theory of Human Motivation” and his subsequent book Motivation and Personality. According to him, once the basic needs of survival are met, the next level of needs come into play. While not everyone agrees with all of the elements of each level, the Hierarchy of Authority still stands as a description of human needs. While some have modified his position, the hierarchy does help us to understand how people function. Maslow illustrated human hierarchy of needs in the form of a pyramid.
There are five different levels in Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. They are:
- The Physiological Needs that were outlined earlier.
- Security Needs, which include the needs for safety and security. Some examples of security needs are a desire for steady employment, health care, safe neighborhoods, and shelter from the environment.
- Social Needs, which include needs for belonging, love, and affection. Relationships such as friendships, romantic attachments, and families help fulfill this need for companionship and acceptance, as well as involvement in social, community, or religious groups.
- Esteem Needs involve the need for self-esteem, personal worth, social recognition, and accomplishment. Failing to gain recognition for accomplishments can lead to feelings of failure or inferiority
- Self-actualizing Needs. This is the highest level of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and it involves self-awareness, concerns about personal growth, and interest in fulfilling one’s potential.
I have excellent news to share concerning all of our needs. In the book of Phillipians the Bible tells us tells us that God is well able to supply them all.
Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
How comforting it is to know that our God has the power and desire to fulfill all of our needs. And, according to His manual, the Bible, all we have to do is ask. One of my favorite scriptures is Luke 11:9-13. It states:
Luke 11:8-13 (KJV)
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Have you paid attention to the fact that the key words in verse 9: Ask, Seek and Knock spell the word Ask? It looks like God wants us to ask of Him what we need. Yes, there are some things He has already provided for you and we didn’t even have to ask for them. We are all breathing, right? And, He does rain on the just as well as the unjust, according to Matt. 5:45. That’s just because He is such a good God.
But, and I ask this question of the atheist, how can you ask something of someone that you do not believe exists? IJS. Asking God for something recognizes who He is and allows us to put ourselves in proper perspective to Him. You have to humble yourself to another when you are asking something of that person. God is our Heavenly Father and it His good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
Luke 12:32 (KJV)
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
That is, if He is your Heavenly Father. For those of you who have not accepted God as the sovereign and supreme Creator and Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, asking for something from God through Jesus would be similar to asking my natural father to meet your needs. If you were to ask my Dad for $100 (If he were still alive, of course), I’m sure he would want to know who you are and why you feel that you have the right to ask anything of him. He might even say, “You are not my child, why should I give you $100?” But if you were his child he would be more likely to give it to you. The same goes for my Heavenly Father. Why would my Heavenly father meet your needs when you are not His child? But don’t despair, I have good news for you. If you are not His child you can be. No matter what you’ve done, no matter how ugly you ‘ve lived, Jesus has already died for your sins and made it possible for you to become a child of God. So how do you become His child? You do this through the new birth. You ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and you ask Him for the gift of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You are then re-born. In order to have the power to live a clean and holy life, as Jesus requires, you ask Him to fill you with the Holy Ghost. And He will do it.
There is one more little nugget that you need to know about salvation. You cannot fool God. You cannot “game” Him and you cannot trick Him. Since He made you He knows more about you than you know about yourself. He knows when you are sincere in your repentance and He requires true repentance. Don’t expect to go through the motions, say the right words, take a run through His treasure chest of blessings with the intentions of getting what you want from Him, then going back to your old way of life. It won’t work. But I assure you that if you desire a true change in your life circumstances, a real relationship with your Heavenly father, as well as your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to have your feet placed on the right path to heaven you can have it. My God will meet all of your needs.
Luke 12:22-32 (KJV)
22 And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26 If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
You read the last line, right? It is His good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. And, once you are His child, all you have to do is ASK!
As you read this post, please examine your relationship with the Lord to determine what the “It” may be in your own life.
